Life is too short for many things.
But especially petty squabbling, especially here on Answerbank, which should be a friendly refuge for everybody, but especially the oddballs like me who come here for a rest.
Do I squabble?
Of course I must have done, intentional or unintentional is besides the point.
Now how can I show disapproval without squabbling?
This is important as who knows when one of us gets the cough, and nobody wants to feel regrets, (I shouldn't have said that etc)
What am I saying but not very well?
I think you have the gist.

Human nature is what it is, strange times equal worry and restlessness and squabbling will ensue - just try not to join in or even worse start it off and walk away.

Some people just like squabbling for squabbles sake, unfortunately.

The typed word can be a bit of a swine, you don't see the facial expressions nor hear the intonation.
Also, I reckon depending on what mood one is in depends on how you read the typed word.

As my lovely SIL says, don't sweat the small stuff.

Good advice.
As the Gal's above say, just ignore it and don't get involved, Theland. After all as you say life is to short.
Honestly folk, there are some people on AB who could start an argument in a monastery. They post stuff knowing it will cause a reaction, and some others who delight in taking a contrary opinion, whatever the topic of discussion.

That's one of the reasons I enjoy posting on Mamya's music threads, they are always chilled out and friendly.
No there isn't.
:-D
"just try not to join in or even worse start it off and walk away."

Lol.
I agree - life is far too short. I sat outside in the sunshine on my own today and just appreciated it.

Note to self :- "Discretion, patience, and run faster :-("
And answerbank will be reduced to GMEB,
What are you having for dinner?,
And coo cooing over babies
Riviting subjects all
...and Jeff Chandler photos.
Nice one Tilly2,
Very quick
Albs is right. It's definitely different in print. Irony often gets missed or misunderstood. Disagreement should be fine, but if it's winding you up, keep away... xx

I just don't understand how some look for every opportunity to attack another ABer.
Does it make them look clever?
no, TL, it makes THEM think they look clever.
Subtle difference :-) x
We should not forget , AB is no substitute for real life.

Its a nuisance trying to engage in a conversation, then having to stop and become defensive in the face of constant criticism.
A real shame.
Question Author
Anne - I agree. But used correctly, AB can be engaging and interesting, but without the spoilers.
It’s supposed to reflect the real world, but does it?
I’m not sure
In the real world I don't see callous attacks for trivial stuff
But the secret is to ignore those that you’d cross the road to avoid :0)
