I am really looking forward to this !

I wonder if it will be as good the "Merchant Ivory" version, of 25 years ago ?

I don’t usually go for period dramas but this one has piqued my interest for some reason.
Bit hard work for a Sunday.
Thought it was really well directed and looked great - how did they find those London locations? But not sure why Helen Schlegel was staying with the Wilcox's at the beginning - had they met on holiday? What had happened to the Schlegel sisters' parents? As you can tell, haven't seen the film.
Thanks, Mamya. Can't read it properly, though, as it keeps trying to block 'that which must not be named'.
The exterior of the Schlegels’ London home (Wickham Place) is filmed in Myddelton Square in Clerkenwell. All of the Georgian houses on the square are Grade II listed.

I don't seem to have any problem in viewing this link ?

The Art Director and the set dressers must have had a field day making this series.

All beautifully acted. The BBC have done us proud, as usual.

But its been a while since we had a good BBC Dickens dramatization.....high time for another one methinks !
I've recorded this too.

Saw this as a play at Wimbledon Theatre yonks ago with my first wife. Gwen Watford and Maxine Audley as the Schlegel girls/

Last night was much better....at least we got out of those beautiful interiors into the fresh air !

I am also starting to see the significance of the Basts.

Can't wait until next Sunday !
i have watched the three episodes so far, but can't really see the point of the story, i don't feel sympathy with the people, though its well done and very well acted.
some locations are by russell square, as i recognise the British Museum and Islington as recognise the church.

Emmie....I have cheated a bit and read the plot synopsis earlier this morning !

The story, as it pans out, will have truly shocking results.
i know as i have seen the film, if they stick to that, i remember it well. will watch the rest and see if i can find it in my heart to like any of them, love Matthew McFayden in whatever he does.
if you want good Dickens dramas then go for Bleak House, Little Dorrit, all on dvd. Little Dorrit was a hard read but worth it in the end, incidentally Matthew McFayden played the lead in Little Dorrit.

Emmie....good point ! When did the Beeb last make an adaption of a Dickens book ? It must be years ago now.

Bleak House was particularity well done.....remember Charles Dance as Tulkinghorn ?
'Truly shocking' might be seen as a slight overstatement but hey, for all I know you squeal with delight at the circus and have lashings of ginger beer with everything.

Dougie....what was the purpose of that post ? We were having a good discussion about this program, and then you spoil it by making sour comments.

Why ?
David Copperfield done a few years ago was good, with a very young Daniel Radcliffe and a loathsome Trevor Eve as Mr Murdstone
