Help Id`ing 2 Old Kids Shows!

Hi.
This is what I can recall from these shows:
Mid 80's stop motion. Not on tv but a commercial video tape. The name Sharro The Dog rings a bell, but it doesn't show up online. Plot: A yellow dog was tricked by a Raven/Crow into walking over a covered pit trap in the forest.
This is all I have on this.

The other was a one-off BBC or ITV kids drama. Some boys are playing football - the ball goes into a nearby house window by accident. There's a sickly old lady in bed, the boys freak out and run. The old lady's son - a Mancunian with a knit hat and facial hair - befriends one of the boys. The old lady dies. The boy and the man go off together to watch a football match - the man singing "Come on United!".

Does anyone remember these at all?
