Celebrity specials certainly. As for "experts", the whole point of Eggheads is for existing quiz teams to have a go at beating them...

Mmmm, that's what I thought. They seem to have filmed an episode with a team of people who all share a profession and to some extent could be described as celebrities.

I don't really follow the programmes but this seemed out of character.
They certainly have had Celebrity Specials, but as most celebrities are not too bright anyway in fits in with their policy of not having teams too clever
I've suggested on more than one occasion that Eggheads v Chasers would make a great Comic Relief special, but I doubt it will ever happen...
I wonder how a team from AB would fare against them?
Probably quite well, I'd reckon...
There is a wealth of knowledge on here, I fancy a good team could be put together.....
Question Author
That could be interesting Mark, the question setters would have a field day.

I don't know how long I'll have to wait for this episode to be aired but await with interest.

An AB team would you have to sit behind a monitor displaying your Avatar?
Question Author
Although Mark could do without the monitor....
I'd be prepared to give up my anonymity for a share of the prize. How much is it now?
> the question setters would have a field day.

I know them all - they'd be more than up to the task... :-)
A team that comprised or Setphen Fry and LLewelyn Bowen would be very formidable. The latter won a £1m for charity in who wants to be a millionairre. Stephen Fry an ex-Cambridge graduate knows everything.
Would it not be more accurate to say he thinks he knows everything?
> The latter won a £1m for charity in who wants to be a millionaire.

Not quite: http://en.wikipedia.o...onaire.3F_controversy

> Stephen Fry an ex-Cambridge graduate knows everything.

Nobody knows everything, nor does Oxbridge mean much these days...
Stephen Fry certainly does NOT know everything. I remember when he was a Phone-a-Friend on Who Wants to be a Millionaire and he got the answer WRONG! I know hard to believe isn't it. http://www.guardian.c...eekendstvstephenfrygu
A quiz team I was in went for an audition for "Eggheads" where you have to take a reserve making six. All six beat the opposition and we won the team game. A good audition. We never heard another thing and the irony of it was the team we beat turned up on the programme.
So anybody on AS who is a bit useful has got no chance as they only want mainly cannon fodder

It's not all about knowledge. You have to be able to do 'good television' as well.
A long time ago someone I worked with went to an audition for 15 to 1. He got all his questions wrong but still went forward to the second set.
Having been on the 6th programme of 15 to 1 , i am intrigued by what you mmean by the second set
I mean that there was a second set of auditions at which he was eliminated.
Markrae correction....I should have said Bowen reached the £1m question but failed in on a disputed answer. No mean feat anyway!
