I feel the same way nextqueen!.....not really wanting anything that I usually enjoy!.......

i know, i told hubby then when he walks in, i will just be having a fried egg with a slice of bread and butter for tea, something simple and what i fancy. may resort to sardines on toast too, they always say the simplest things are the best dont they but dont think hubby will buy this for too long!
Home made tuna fish cakes (but only when tuna is on offer), hot dogs with proper sausages and caramelised onions, home made pizza, potato dauphinois, green salad and a bacon chop, macaroni cheese? (Current fav's in our house.)
Next - the problem is that our ideas may not be your ideas of an exciting meal. You need to think about what type of food you like and there is such a wealth of information on the internet there is bound to be something you like. eg if you like baked potato there are countless interesting toppings. Do you like fish which is not on your shopping list. If so which type. The fish counter often have dressed fish but again I hesitate to suggest in case that is not your thing. We live in a country that has every type of food available so no real need to run out of options.
sher, sounds good!........but still not tempted!........usually enjoy cooking and eating food, but at present just totally uninterested!........

thanks for ideas sherrardk, hubby doesnt like tuna but i do, had an improvised pizza on sat night and we didnt really like it, trying to be good too so sausages out, darn it. we are dauphinoised out, hubbys favourite and even he says no it that now. he doesnt like a bacon chop but thanks for your ideas, very different to our household so theres hope yet out there for ideas im sure ;-)
last night I went to a friends house and they had made a spaghetti bolognese that was a real treat. Much tastier than usual as they had added a few extras.
No probs, I nearly posted a similar question yesterday when I was doing my online shopping, flipping fed up of giving them the same thing all the time (but they enjoy it).

yes grasscarp so much choice, maybe thats the problem. couldnt say one thing i fancy right now, tried everything though sure i havent really, have i??
White chilli. Chicken meat, white beans, green chillies, green Tobasco, pepper, salt. Easy and can be made right out of cans.
I forgot corn tortilla chips as a thickener.
A different but simple dish is Italian, tonno fagioli. Can of tuna, can of red kidney beans (drained), sliced onion (I go for red onion as a bit sweeter). Mix up with a bit of dressing and serve with crusty bread e.g. tesco tiger baton. Plus a red wine if that is your type of thing.
Im in exactly the same boat as you nextqueen. What im going to do is set a couple of hours aside and change my supermarket. I go to the same Tescos every week and i'm just programmed to walk round and pick the same stuff up.

So this week im going to Asda in Brighton and im going to take my time walking round to see what they have for sale. The week after, i might go to Sainsburys or even Morrisons.
If you go to the websites for BBC Good Food and delicious. magazine, you'll find some great recipes.

You can apply some filters to choose an everyday main course, using chicken, ready in 20minutes or whatever criteria you want.

They are both really good ways of reinvigorating your repertoire and you can save your favourite recipes in a folder for future use.
