I just watched 'Diamond Geezer' on ITV starring David Jason, I really enjoyed it, i thought it well written and acted. But there was a scene near the end when David Jason went to hand the keys to the ferrari to his son while the engine was still running...How does that work then ?

..haha I noticed that too, how sad are we? no don't answer that...spare set possibly?..

It is similar to the STi imprezza that allows the engine to run after removal of the key for a certain amount of time, don't understand the purpose however.

Don't know if the Ferrari in Diamond Geezer had one, but if it had a turbo, then you can get a turbo timer to allow it to cool off - the timer allows it to cool off properly when you stop the car, by feeding it a steady stream of fresh oil, and thus likely preventing coking of the bearings (gunk buildup). A turbo timer allows you to stop the car, park it, remove the key and lock the door, while a small timer device keeps your engine running for a pre-set period of time.

i thought in some expensive cars you could take the keys out without turning the engine off??? but it was a good thing!

my husband spotted that too.
