none of my recent birthdays have been memorable for pleasurable reasons so no
No, had too many of them.
Not so much since dad died tbh I really miss his calls (he used to phone several times a day on my BDay)
But my stepmum and I are currently planning a trip to Vegas next year for my 50th - Husband and I are going for 10 days and stepmum will join us for 5 days - she is adamant that we do it as she and dad were planning on taking me there anyway had he still be here.
why on earth would anybody celebrate being another year older - beats me - sure you have one foot nearer the grave. no, loathe and despise birthdays and presents

Because you can - never complain about being another year older - the alternative sucks.
what's the alternative -
oh do you mean The Grim Reaper will get you.
yes jenny -death is the alternative to getting older lol! Unless you have found the Fountain of Youth hidden somewhere, if so send me a bottle could you? :-)
I actually quite like being a bit spoilt and made to feel special on my birthday - don't hanker for big parties and grand gifts but a little fuss is nice.
Thank God I never married - would have loathed all that attention and fuss. no.
Nope - on occasion I've even forgotten that it WAS my birthday!
Not if I can help it...
Never liked them. As regards the age thing, apart from creaking, and making strange noises under exertion, I couldn’t give a fig.
My wedding day was not about attention and fuss it was about marrying the man I love with my close family and friends and then a meal and a drink afterwards
I adored being married - still we're all different.
I like your passion, JJ!
Very brave., although could have turned out very different..

could have turned out different - like what way Patsy - married with loads of kids etc - if I had have married the man of my dreams (reality) would not have been able to have kids as he had the "nick of the dick".
what?
vasectomy
Good grief.
