Does anybody find J V is getting more and more obnoxious ? I think he's trying to be a Paxman and failing miserably. He comes across as rude, arrogant and in most cases uninformed which makes him sound stupid. It's about time he was replaced on the radio.

Jeremy Vine showing that if Radio 2 had been broadcasting 100 years ago today, he would been asking f****** stupid questions even then.

Brilliant. Jeremy Vine tries twice to give example of a country not in the EU, and on each occasion names one that is in the EU.

Couple of tweets I've nicked there from one of my favourite people ;)

Drives me up the wall, even when he's presenting 'eggheads' and trying to act as if he didn't know the answer either (he probably didn't). Marginally better than ghastly Dermott IMHO, but really........

I retune to Capital or Magic when Ken finishes, I find JV is not as bright as he thinks he is, and can come over as very naïve at times, also what the hell is that yokel on the allotment all about?
If he's getting "more and more obnoxious", why do you keep listening? If I don't like someone, I listen to someone else.

PS, just about gets away with Eggheads, but, only just!!
I switch off after Ken Bruce. Then I turn on again for Simon Mayo.
He has made quite a few gaffs lately.
Lol....he's just described Ian Paisley as a "highly contagious" figure,......bless
;)

Bathsheba, which station is James H Reeves on these days? Used to love him years ago on Piccadilly Radio. Ta
Starting to feel a bit embarrassed now, as Vine is a graduate of my alma mater, though I was there long before him.
## It's about time he was replaced on the radio. ##

And TV!

## also what the hell is that yokel on the allotment all about? ##

He has copied the idea from some DJ or presenter on TV or radio, and it was funny, but cant remember the show!
Bring back Jimmy Young!

///and it was funny///

Just not any more
Wasn't the yokel on the allotment a running gag with the Two Ronnies?
Hi Captain. Great to meet another fan of James Hengist ;) I love love love him. Used to record his late night shows to audio-cassette tape! A few can be found on Youtube, fortunately.
Sadly I don't think he's working anywhere at the moment,....he did have a brief slot on a local radio Sat afternoon football prog, but no longer.
I'm not fully au-fait with Twitter yet, but it's possible to find his bon-mots by Googling. (ooh, get me, I've gone all French, lol).
And Obiter's gone a bit Latin, I see ;) Don't be embarrassed...he's not your resposibility!
trt....that yokel from the allotment has been coming on for donkey's years!

I know that Vine is not my contemporary; but one of my contemporaries was a certain Dr. Harold Shipman, college medical officer!
...am dying to know who you were/are, Obiter.
I've been on here since early 07,....left (well, just stopped looking in) in 2010, then came back in March of this year. Would I have known you?

Probably, but I'm not saying any more as it may reopen old wounds and as it seems so much more pleasant on here these days I would like to remain.
He likes to think he's as funny as his brother (Tim), but he fails every time.

He was on holiday (or whatever caused his absence) & Vanessa Feltz sat in - I don't particularly like her, but thought she made a good job of it.
