My mum has advanced dementia,no longer shows any interest in TV......until Ant and Dec come on, then she laughs and really enjoys watching them. Therefore I say thank you to them for making my mum smile again, its a talent nobody else has any more.

Years ago, when I was a teacher, our school was invited to send some children to be in the audience of a Saturday morning TV kids' show hosted by the above. The majority of the children in my class were selected to go. I declined to chaperone them, for various reasons, not least the preservation of my sanity. When they returned on the following Monday, they were ecstatic. Apparently the said two had been so friendly and outgoing, making them feel thoroughly welcome without any hint of the pomposity that one might associate with TV 'personalities' that they made a bunch of new friends for life. Therefore, despite my natural instincts, I am slow to rush to judgement here.

They seem to get bucketfuls of money for doing what seems to be very little. A bit like Jonathan Ross!.(No need to comment on this one!)

They have a natural talent for making people laugh without causing offence to anyone - something some of our so called 'comedians' are incapable of. I like them a lot.

I'm a little reticent ( is that spelled right?) to answer this, when they first appeared on tv I thought they had the makings of Morecambe & Wise & they were very good, however I think they have been over exposed by the tv programmers, & I must confess that now I can't switch them off fast enough.
