Does anyone know who pays for the banquet for the returning troops? And how much it will cost. I'm hoping it's not the BBC paying with my licence fee.

What a question. I would rather they spent my licence money on that than some of the rubbish they show on the box.

I always find it ironic that UK Servicemen defend the very rights of people who are subsequently given the freedom to ask such a spiteful and inane question.

Rather that than they spend it on such gems as Deadenders or as salary for the likes of Jonathan Ross.
Talentless scum like Ross should have the cost of the banquet deducted from his ludicrously inflated pay, if he had one single atom of decency he would offer to pay!
gbm is made by optomen tv who make a lot of these cookery shows. such as f word and kitchen nightmaes.

the meal will probably be partly funded out of the paymenyt made by bbc to optomen for buying the series, recouped from phone voting, and possibly partly from the armed services themselves.

it does strike me that the banquet will probabkly only be for the top officers rather than your average foot soldier, though i hiope not.
I agree Philtaz, spiteful w4nkers like this tw&t cannot see the ironly of the fact, that they can criticise, is mostly down to those they hate.

Thanks to the couple of people that really answered my question.

To all the others that totally got me wrong. I do not have any issue with the armed forces, or the queen or the top chefs (I checked the other progs in the series).

I was only asking a question, I'm sorry if I offended anyone.
