Having watched the second episode of Whitechapel I had a thought. They were staking out Mitre Square. And after the murder one of the first things they did was get all the CCTV of the area on which they spotted the killer. Why didn't they have someone watching the CCTV as it was happening? They couldn't have prevented the murder, but they might have had a chance of catching the killer.

Dramatic needs not withstanding, would it not have been good policing, weeal?
yes - had there been cctv around in the 1880's lol
peeeeerhaps......... the killer was the cctv operator
I think the first episode was good

the second slightly let it down, I mean the fact that a bloke could drag a body into the square then get away was just pants
