Enoch Powell was 100% right.

This Country is now a sh1thole.

Question Author
yes but thats not what i asked
Back then I lived in Wolverhampton and Enoch Powell was our MP. Great man, seriously misunderstood possibly the best Prime Minister Britain never had.
Like Brian Clough, the best football manager England never had
I remember the speech well. i was for him then,

And still agree with him.
Question Author
i wonder if theres anyone out there that marched against him that would like to answer...im not judging i'm just interested to know
the man was right
I remember the speech and totally agreed with him then and I feel the same way now.

Totally agree with Doc Spock - this country has gone to the dogs and if I was 30 years younger, I'd emigrate. I dread to think what it's going to be like when my grandchildren grow up.

i know what you mean keep telling my kids to make sure they do well at school etc and take their qualifications abroad and that i wouldnt blame them but they dont seem to understand
The people who marched to oppose Enoch Powell will never be seen or heard of again, a fortnight later these rentagobs were off marching against something else. They only ever oppose, for example do you remember the protests at the time when Saddam Hussein was president of Iraq (comedian Mark Thomas was one of them, I quite like his work) they were protesting AGAINST the sanctions imposed by th U.N saying that it was responsible for so many thousands of deaths? Where are they now?
Their answer was to trade freely with Iraq "to build up the middle classes" so they can get rid of him for us, where are they now?
P.S.
I was too young to march for or against "rivers of blood" but for the record I don't neccessarily agree with what he said, tried to say or predicted.
I watched the show on Channel 4 the other day about immigration only to be confronted by a man saying how the immigrants "don't fit in with our way of life" whilst wiping his nose on the palm of his hand. I work with the public (over 18 years in this job, more than 20 overall) and I'll tell all of you staight it's not the brown and yellow faced kids who cause me trouble, you don't see em after 2000 they're all at home.
Should have listened to him, and I doubt even he would have guessed how bad England was to become.
