I remember it - it starred Jack Wilde, former child star of 'Oliver' but I never actually watched it.

Fair brings me back. Yes, it starred Jack Wild. The other main character was called Witchiepoo. I remember most of the lyrics of the theme tune too. "HR Pufnstuf. Who's your friend when things get rough."

They still play that show on cable tv in the States.........I just watched it on Sat., and the flute talks to the boy, and Witchypoo is always trying to get the magic flute. I love Witchypoo. I have a friend that looks like her. poor Paula!

I enjoyed watching it as a youngster in the early 70s (segmented in the 'Banana Split Club' tv show). Jack Wild was at the height of his fame post OLIVER! but my favourite was the actress who played Witchiepoo - Billie Hayes. There are a few websites dedicated to the show and Ms Hayes has her own personal one.

This kids show starred Jack Wild (the artful doger in Lionel Barts Oliver) His name was Jimmie and the magic flute was called freddy.The Witch was called Witchpoo and their were two police called Cling and Clang.The Witch also had a boat but I don't remember a fish
