Not on DVD..

Just wondering what people would like to see on dvd. I want a series that was on BBC2 a few years ago called 'dont look down' The basic idea of the series was take a presenter with vertigo and make him climb six different buildings while explaining about their history and construction. I can remember he climbed a 1960's tower block, Jodrell Bank radio telescope and the Liverpool Angglican Cathedral. I didnt see them all so it would be nice to have on DVD.

Star Wars is out later this year (or early next I can't remember) as a box set with loads of extras. It will not be avaliable as individual films.

I remember a tv prog on ITV called "Chance in a Million" with Simon Callow. It was top class, really really funny. For some odd reason it was only released on Video in the US. I'd love to see that on DVD.

A series of documentaries that started in the early 60's called '7up' (not that sort of programme!). It followed several children from all walks of life, every seven years. It was really interesting to see how they all changed over time. Also Starsky and Hutch - just to see if Paul Michael Glaser still does it for me like he did when I was in my early teens!

Turtle's Progress, Big Jim and the Figaro Club, Badger by Owl Light, three underrated programs of the seventies/ eighties. Also Joyce Grenfell, I have her on taped, taped off TV but no longer have a video recorder cos we went over to dvd :-(

The first to spring to mind are: Ron Perlman "Beauty and the Beast" TV show, a decent quality release of "Due South" (apparently the current Canadian discs aren't too hot), "Nowhere Man" (US TV show) and some of the more obscure films I have on VHS. Greedyfly - sorry to tell you this, but there is no official release of "Star Wars" episodes 4, 5 and 6 on DVD yet. Those sets you see on eBay are rips from the laserdisc releases (if you are lucky).

I will second Secret Caberet and Starsky and Hutch season 1 is out in the US shortly. Saw it on cd-wow (I think)

Just in case anyone wanted to know, Star Wars trilogy is out in September this year. But as far as I'm aware it'll obviously be just the first 3 (as in the last 3 if you know what I mean) - but then once the last one's out at cinema eventually there will probably be a box set for all 6, so it depends if you want to wait or not.

I think the David Essex thing was called The River. Can't wait for little britain either (although i do have it on dvd, thank goodness for dvd recorders!). I've been using a dvd rental by post thing and you can find some real gems on there! i watched rentaghost last week!

Thanks for the info on Starsky and Hutch! Tracyh, Rentaghost on DVD? If they have done that, then maybe they will release Pinky & Perky, Hectors House and all the 'Watch with Mother' classics!
