can any one tell me what the music is called on homes under hammer when the estate agents go looking around the homes?

Try, Express Yourself by Charles Wright & The Watts 103rd St. Rhythm Band. I think I remember hearing some music which is a re-done version of this (by slightly changing the melody / tune the BBC don't have to pay the record company the royalty, but it's obvious which tune they are ripping-off).
