Does Radio One still do Radio 1 Roadshow?

I live in the Lakes and they used to do a FAB Radio 1 roadshow every year in a tiny village near me. Have they stopped doing them all together or is it just round here?

they no longer do them and i think they only do the one big weekend now?

i loved the radio 1 roadshow when i was a lad..... smiley miley was my fave!!!

I remember when my brother got picked out of the front row by Scatman John and had to copy his... garbling down the microphone!! Ha ha! Anyone else remember him!!? Wonder what he does now! Bodda bodda bee bop bom boddop bo!!!

Just googled him.. Turns out he died aged 57 from cancer. RIP Scatman. My bro's claim to fame.

Radio 1 doesn't do them, but a great station called Big L (www.bigl.co.uk or 1395 Medium Wave) has recreated them. The main DJs on BigL are former Radio 1 jocks Mike Read, David Hamilton and Ed 'Stewpot' Stewart. Read did a series of roadshows last Summer with Smiley Miley. They even hit the headlines when a snake stunt went wrong nearly causing Smiley to choke to death. Read for one should definitely be on Radio 2 now, but this station is a wonderful alternative.
