The last film I saw at the cinema was Scary Movie 1, so quite some years ago...I've promised that in 2007 I am going to the cinema at least once. What big blockbusters are planned for release? I'm female, 38 years old, so not really interested in kiddies films , but am open to seeing anything else.

Hi, the main blockbuster films of the year are probably going to be:

Pirates of the Carribbean 3 (which im not sure if you have seen the other 2, but i would highly reccommend you see them because they are brilliant & johnny depp's performance is excellent, plus its for all ages!)

Spiderman 3 (out in may): again im not sure if you will have seen the first 2, but i would reccommend at least giving 1 a go as it is a brilliant movie but not for everyones taste.

Shrek The Third (out in may): i know you say your not interested in kiddie's films but i dont know one single person who hates shrek! how can you not love a talking donkey!!

Harry Potter & the order of the phoenix (out in july): this is again a film that can be enjoyed by all ages, but not everyone likes it, but worth watching it at least once i reckon, or try seeing the first one and see what you think.

The Simpsons Movie (out in july): if you like the simpsons then this would be a must see, but again not for everyones taste!

I hope this helps a little! These are gonna be the big blockbusters of next year, theres also a few sequels and things that are coming out.

Also i highly reccommend that you go see Happy Feet which is in cinema's at the moment, dancing & singing penguins who could ask for more?!

How about:

The Fountain - Hugh Jackman and Rachel Weisz in a story set in 3 time periods about a man trying to find the secret of immortality, May be a bit "far out" for some. Due Jan/Feb if not further delayed.

The Golden Compass - Based on Philip Pullman's "Northern Lights". Although ostensibly a children's book, its themes (assuming they are not excised) are quite adult.

Transformers - Based on the toys, may be a bit of a blokes/teenie movie for you.

300 - Spartans fight off an invasion. Similar techniques to "Sin City", lots of well-muscled guys...

Miss Potter - The life of Beatrix Potter, probably highly fictionalised. There's also a Jane Austen one out with Anne Hathaway.

Ghost Rider and Fantastic Four 2 - Both comic book movies.

Blood Diamond - Action adventure with a conscience.

Hot Fuzz - English village set police spoof.

Pathfinder - Vikings vs American Indians. See "300" ;-).

30 Days of Night - Where better for vampires than Alaska, where the sun sets for 30 days?

I am a Legend - Will Smith in the third attempt at Richard Matheson's seminal novel. The script I read for it started well, but went Hollywood at the end, plus Big Willy seems a bit "loud" for the part of the last man left alive on the planet.

Stardust - based on Neil Gaiman's superb novel. A young man in a fairytale world goes on a quest to bring a fallen star back to the woman he loves.
As somone has said, how about Miss Potter?

Out on January 5th.

About the life of Beatrix Potter who wrote the childrens stories, Miss Tiggywinkle, Benjamin Bunny etc.
