this is a long shot but i think its a halloween film although i may be wrong!! but it starts with a babysitter and she is alone with the kids upstairs and she keeps getting dodgy phone calls saying 'why dont you check the children' so she freaks with the normal scenarios happening to freak her out more eventually after the fifth deep breathing call she calls the police, they tell her to lock the doors etc and stay in the house while they check it out! - she nearly goes upstairs and then gets a phone call reluctently she picks it up and the police say dont panic but the phone calls are coming from the house - get out! she then sees the upstairs door open and she tries to get out the front door then faints the next bit is of donald pleasence commenting about something then my tape ran out!!! please please please does any one know what film it was??????????? eternally greatfull to anyone who knows

It may have been one of the Halloween films
It's not a halloween movie it does sound like a movie called Black Christmas however that movie was not about babysitters or Donald P starred in this movie.Halloween was originally going to be a sequal to Black Christmas also Halloween was originally going to be called The Babysitter Murders.
This is one of my fave all time movies, and it is called 'When a Stranger Calls'.
Yep When a stranger calls.
FANTASTIC! movie, so many urban myths are based around this particular tale (or vice versa). 'tis a good one!
