On the old T.V Classic Rainbow, why did Bungle wear no clothes, but then at bedtime, put on his pyjamas?

more to the point what was George and Zippy doing with their other hands????
1. He was a teddy bear & is exempt. 2. He was a naturist. 3. He was a bed wetter. Any or all the above.
I'm going to run the risk of appearing humourless here, and give a serious answer - just in case! Children associate bedtimes with routine, and it can be difficult to get them into the habit of going to bed at a fixed time. One way is the ritual of putting pyjamas, and this can be enforced by confirming that popular characters put their pyjamas on at bed time.
He was lazy and wanted to wear his pajamas all day... Then again, maybe it was because Jeffry wouldn't LET him! I mean come on, the man is living in a 2 bed-room house with a Zip monster thingy and a homosexual/cross-dressing hippo + a giant bear who is always trying to get Jeffry's attention. Jeffry treats them like children... perhaps there are some secret issues going on here... Just a thought
