Does anyone know what's happened to Hale and Pace? They were all the rage a few years ago, then, suddenly nothing.

one of them joined some soap didnt they. The one that had the tash and he'd put on quite alot of weight. It was that soap no-one watches on 5.
They were both interviewed on The Story of Light Entertainment on BBC2 the other week.
Isn't one of them a pro Poker player now?
Well Garath Pace was in Las Vegas on Holiday begining of August ..as I stood next to him at baggage reclaim. I didnt acknowlege him. He is larger than before & his missus. But hey' arnt most of us. They looked a bit scally now tho.

Shame. Apparently their style of humour didn't suit the powers that be. Soaps - don't watch them myself but they certainly seem to be the 'black hole' of actors; once in there they're never heard of again. I've lost count of the actors I've recognised while channel hopping.

Many thanks to all of you.
That's Gareth Hale & Norman Pace - see here

Thanks osprey. Those links were interesting.
Perhaps broadcaters realised they weren't very good.

They were in the abortive & ill-advised first attempt to film Dalziel & Pascoe.

Well, I for one enjoyed their style of humour, mind you, I may be the ONLY one.
You're not the only one Garamond. I enjoyed them.

Maybe at their next concert we could share the same phone box then.
I used to regularly see them at The Tramshed in Woolwich as part of 'Fundation'. This was before they were 'famous' and to be honest I just don't think they ever carried their persona/act (call it what you will) over to TV and struggled without the other members of Fundation. Indeed, in their early TV stuff they repeated sketches verbatim from those early days. Having said that, at The Tramshed they did Fri, Sat & Sun nights and you had to get there about 2 hours before the show to get a seat and my chuckle muscle has never hurt as much!
