Mr. Beans Mini

Can anyone tell me why Mr. Beans Mini was an orange colour in the first episode and then changed to a lime green one with a black bonnet?

It may be that the first time it appeared it was a car hired for the production.
But with the later episodes, they thought they would customise their own car ( you wouldn't normally add a sliding bolt to the outside of a hired car ).
