John
i t5hought it was a two sylable name cause at the end on the song it goes and blah blah drives the boooooaaaattt
and john he drives the boat, thats the bit you mean kazza12345
at one point is was a woman named Pat, maybe Auntie Pat, I can't recall.
I loved the Duck !
lol. all this time i thought they sung joggy steers the boat
hmmm that sounds feasible "john, he steers the boat"
however, i have a feeling there has been more than one boat steerer over time? As a previous poster said, i'm sure it was a woman one too. So you could both be right, in this matter of great import. MAybe it depends on how old you are as to who steered the boat in your era?
Yes John steered the boat, I'm pretty sure that he was the man behind Rosie and Jim and also Postman Pat. He was in for quite a few series then someone else did take over, and I think it may have been a woman.
Hi I found this

I loved the duck too :o)
I have 2 sons, one 15 and one 3. I can tell you that when my eldest was little it was definately John who steered the boat. I have the video here with him on that my little one now watches.Over the years though there have been various actors playing the part and yes, one was a woman. Can't remember her name though. If you want to google it, its rag doll productions.
here this is great! http://www.rosieandjim.tv/intro.html make sure you have your speakers on!!!!!
there was never enough of the duck for my liking..

quaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack.....
My friends little boy was absolutely gobsmacked when I sung the theme from Mopatop from beginning to end.
You want it, we got it, sorry - there I go again.
Did Rosie and Jim call him "Fizzog" or am I getting mixed up with something else?
Yes they did or fizzgog probably fizzog, though we used to use this term for face as well.
