Can anyone remember the title of this programme? It was a one off, similar to the old London to Brighton in 4 minutes film, only this was an RAF jet that flew around the Britsh coastline. Can't remember if it was 30 minutes or an hour, but it was in realtime apart from maybe a few minor cuts. I'm pretty sure it was on the BBC and it was maybe five or more years back.

I do remember it, but can't remember the title or how long it lasted. I'm sure it was on the BBC, but I think it must have been more like 15 years ago than 5.
Yeah, it was quite a long time ago, at least 10 years I would have thought. I seem to remember that it was filmed backwards for some strange reason.
I don't know if its the same programme but I too remember one about 18 years ago - an RAF plane flying round the coast, they speeded up past some areas, I think it was called something like "Round Britain Wizz" but I can't find anything on Google about it!
spudqueen, 'cos the camera was pointing to the rear of the aircraft so that no flies etc 'smudged' the lens, they ran the film in reverse to make it look like you were flying forwards.

Link doesn't work so I'll cut & paste from Wikipedia.

Round britain whizz

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A 1986 episode of the BBC1 science tv series QED which took us on a high speed journey of the coastline of Great Britain in half an hour. The series was filmed using a mounted camera on the back of a jet aircraft which was placed at the rear of the aircraft facing backwards, and reversed, because of the possibility of flies getting on the lens.

God, well done Mortartube, my memory isn't so bad after all!
