in a 1990's tv series the eponymous characters best friend was his dog. what was the name of the dog?

Due South - dog called Deefinhouzen or summunk like that. What does eponymous mean by the way
Eponymous means the show had the same name as the character, so Hamish Macbeth would seem a likely answer.

BTW, the dog/wolf thing in Due South was called Diefenbaker, named after a former Canadian Prime Minister. Coo, I don't half know some pointless crap. :-)

can you be anymore specifc? lots of shows in the 90's had dogs in them. littlest hobbo...lassie..Woof!...(i know some of these were shown earlier but may have been repeated on sky somewhere in the 90's)
