Why did they only make one series of this X - Files spin off - it was cool.

It was a good series. I spotted the DVD box set in Smiths today and was very tempted as I remember watching it on tv and enjoying it a lot.

they died in x files so i suppose they could have never had story lines after this event

Their death in the X Files was after their own show was cancelled.

I enjoyed the show, but I don't think the pilot episode (made and broadcast in the US before 9/11) which had a plot to crash a passenger plane into the Twin Towers helped its popularity...

The X-Files ran for a good 10 years. Im sure they could have had plenty of scope to have a no of series prior to their deaths in the X-Files. They did not have to be co-terminus (no pun intended). Anyway remember soapstars coming back to life in the shower etc.
