I have just started to watch Eastenders after a break and Vicki seems to have lost her American accent. Was any reason given for this?

From what I can remember it just happened overnight for no apparent reason.
She hasn't been in it for a couple of years now though...
The explanation given was that she had become 'Anglicised' although obviously it doesn't work like that. People either develop a hybrid accent - where their origins show through in odd words and phrases, or likving in England makes no dent in their accent whatsoever. But that's soaps for you.
It was easier for the actress to use her "Surrey" accent than it was to keep up the pretence of being American for such a long time, phasing in the inevitable change over a longer period. I'd venture to suggest that a more accomplished actress could have carried it of.
She's probably taken time off to go to speech and drama classes ..
a few acting classes wouldn't go amiss either!
does anyone know if eamon holmes has a fan club
