so how rare is that! I have been a Pete Duel fan since 1971 and this is the first time i have come across it since! Apart from his brother Geoffrey who was in Chusum.
I know that Mr Deuel is the name of the fat man in the Channel 4 programme today. But who is Mr Duel? Am I supposed to know who he is, or who you are talking about?
never heard of him either !
Well, while Dot splutters into her Gordon's Gin with indignation at the idea of somebody not knowing who Pete D(e)uel was, allow me to enlighten you.

He played Hannibal Heyes, aka Joshua Smith, in the first two of the three series of light-hearted 1970s TV western Alias Smith and Jones. His rise to fame came to a sad end when he committed suicide on New Year's Eve 1971. He's the one on the left of these two photos, in case it jogs the memory.

I was totally in love with him and sickened when he blew his brains out.
Actually, on closer inspection, I think that's Roger Davis (Duel's replacement in the role) in the picture on the right, but it's definitely Duel in the picture on the left.
