Anyone watching tonight? I've never seen such rubbish!

I have tried watching a couple of times, because people say it's so good.

I prefer to watch comedy programmes with proper actors in them, rather than with stand-up comedians who've got absolutely zero acting ability.  Lee Mack can't act!

It used to be great, full of wisecracks, supporting comics. Then the supports went, and they allowed the couple to get together. It went downhill every series from there.

 

I guess the writers ran out of ideas for scenarios so changed the narrative, and it never recovered from that.

There's  four writers, 

Lee Mack, Andrew Collins, Daniel Peak and Sarah Morgan.

I've not seen it for a good while but one I did see, involved Lee Mack being on a jury and that was dire.

Sally Bretton seems nice enough but she is a dreadful actress. She plays much the same character in Beyond Paradise as she does in Not Going Out

I tend to agree - it started of great (although them sharing a flat & not being a couple seemed a bit far-fetched) and has steadily gone gone downhill since they got married.

Seems a bit forced and canned laughter? Lee is great on Wilty (Bob Mortimer the best tho!), but I'm sick of repeats where it says "new".

Totally agree with everyone  - I can't  stand stand it, it was bad enough when they just flat shared but when they got married it went downhill even further, if that was possible. And yes Barry, Sally Breton seems to play the exact character in whatever she is in, it's very odd. She doesn't play a natural character, never ever seems to laugh, just very odd.
