He cut his fingers off to stop his ex mate talking to him. It is a last resort because his mate wouldn't get the message.

it may not be your cup of tea but it was very popular.

I thought it was a bit daft as well. Shame because I really like Brendan Gleeson and Colin Farrell - they were fantastic together in In Bruge.

You've seen none of the John Wick ones then?

"The Banshees of Inisherin received nine nominations at the 95th Academy Awards, including Best Picture and Best Director. At the 80th Golden Globe Awards, it won three awards: Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy, Best Actor – Musical or Comedy (Farrell), and Best Screenplay. It also won four BAFTA Awards from ten nominations at the 76th British Academy Film Awards: Outstanding British Film, Best Actor in a Supporting Role (Keoghan), Best Actress in a Supporting Role (Condon), and Best Original Screenplay."

It would appear then, not everyone shares your opinion, TORATORATORA.

You're the one to blame, no-one else.

He certainly will!

It was the Ed who put rule 2 in the list, so he'll be pleased it's being enforced. Check it out as you're not familiar with it, TTT

Beats me how the film got made let alone win the awards it did. yet I did make it through to the end; suppose I needed to see just if it had a predictable ending.

I wasn't going to bother but now I am intrigued.

absurdist dark humour, according to Wiki. I did think In Bruges was terrific (same director) so I'll have a look at this one.

Mayadup, the reason it got made would have been that the director's previous film, Three Billboards, won a couple of acting Oscars. Hollywood is easily impressed by such baubles...

Just because it got some awards doesn't mean it's a good popular entertaining film. When they say a film is 'critically acclaimed ' you can bet your bottom dollar it's going to be a boring pretentious load of drivel.

I enjoyed 3 billboards but gave this one a miss - can't be doing with the Irish schtick...
