Zulu 1964 Uncut Version?
Hi Everyone.
Is there an Uncut version of 'Zulu'? I have never seen the film all the way through. Last time (20 years ago) I recorded it off the telly, only to find the recording ended 20 minutes early. Decided to give it another go. Just looked on Amazon and found the Bluray for less than £8.00 However, a few reviews say its been cut, with some of the more bloodier scenes now removed. Asking google the question of whether the film has been cut comes up with the answer as No. However, I don't trust the answer. It seems a bit ambiguous, if you read it yourself. It maybe that they dont want the original cut released. One reviewer stated that one scene depicted a British Officer with a leg wound, going out and cutting Zulu's down left right and Centre. He said that scene (along with others) were no longer in the film. Having not seen it for 20 years (and not all the way through) I have no idea who is right. The reviewers, or Google? I dont like Cut movies, so wont buy it if thats the case. I want to see it Uncut, warts and all.

I have seen it on a number of occasions and often it seems to change the length of time it is on by the channel they show it on. Adverts I suppose. As it is only rated PG it won't show to much gore anyway. When I was young we lived next door to Ivor Emmanuel's brother for a sort while. Still one of my favourite films.
// according to Google, the film was originally 2hr 18m. If thats the case, the DVD and Bluray releases are 5 mins short. So maybe the reviewers are right. //
not necessarily. modern TVs, especially those with high refresh rates, can display a higher number of frames per second (FPS) than the original content was filmed at. Films run at 24F/P/S, but TVs run best at 30F/P/S. so films can run to a shorter length.
