I know we've talked about this movie before but it's on again tonight -BBC3 at 9pm.  Two girls into mountain climbing climb a 2000ft abandoned TV tower.  I've seen it twice - edge of the seat, nail-biting stuff.   Highly (no pun intended) recommended.

Yes, I've seen it & once my disbelief had been suspended, I enjoyed it.

I couldn't watch it, I have a violent reaction to heights these days, even on TV.

I never used to have this problem - it's a blerdy nuisance

Question Author

I thought it superb, LiK.  And I don't like heights!  😂

Sorry Barry, you weren't there wheni posted.  I really don't like heights.  I just kept reminding myself I was sitting on the sofa and quite safe.

A couple of mates of mine climbed a decommissioned power station cooling tower back in the day. Not 2000' tho.

Oh, I really didn't enjoy the height at all!  My insides managed a good job of rearranging themselves 🤢

The filming of it is interesting.  Although the tower is real they didn't use it (thank goodness), but built a smaller replica on top of a mountain which is how they managed to capture the height for those 'panoramic' scenes.  I'm holding my breathe just thinking about that movie.  Unforgettable.

Started to watch it but couldn't get through the first 20 mins of angst then the OTT youtuber. Gave up.

Question Author

Oh Dave, what a shame.  Had you gone just very slightly beyond the OTT YouTuber have got to where the action is. All of that just set the scene and had a relevant place in the story.

Thanks to nothing else of interest on the telly last night and seeing your thread we ended up watching this. Although I laughed out loud at some points (with the vultures mainly) I did find it really compelling and strangely terrifying as I imagined myself up there, OMG horrendous. I've been researching the film this morning as it made quite an impression.

If you like scary climbs watch this chap - and it's for real!

Really enjoyed this, was quite surprised at the end.

Question Author

Yes, it is a twist, vagus.  Really unexpected.

I didn't see it on Sunday but really enjoyed it so much so I've also seen it twice.
