New series kicked off last night, with Episode 2 for some reason.

It seems we are seeing much less of the restoration than in the early series. Anyone agree?

I find this program annoying - they spend weeks/£1000s restoring cars that are really only fit for scrap mostly for owners who are on their last legs anyway & unlikely to be doing much driving. The only beneficiaries are the families who get to inherit (& probably sell) the cars.

So I don't usually watch it - before anyone asks!

I like it, brings joy to someone who has little to be joyous about. It makes no sense, in real life no one would put in the thousands hours and expense to restore a car that is worth a fraction of what was spent to do it, but here's the thing, this is a TV show where cars are the vehicle(I know!) not the point. It's basically surprise surprise, doing a nice thing for someone who is a car enthusiast but has no chance of restoring it themselves. I missed the one last night but I'll stream it then watch from last week.

I didn't realise the new series had started but my box recorded it automatically.
