Are You A Watcher Or A Zoomer?

I record everything, firstly so I can zoom through the adverts and secondly so that I can zoom through the waffle that forms part of so many quiz shows now.  The worst offenders for me are Celebrity Catchphrase which can get through about 10 minutes of waffle before the show actually kicks off and the 1% Club  with its incessant waffling between questions.  So are you a watcher or a zoomer - and if a zoomer, what do you zoom?

Zoomer - I get through the 1% Club in about 20 mins.

Me too, BHG.  Another is Claudia Winkleman's One Question.

zoomer, I do the same.

I am not exagerrating in saying I haven't see a single TV ad in years.

I don't like the 1% club, Mack does my head in. The chase takes about 35-40 mins, I FF the breaks and the waffle with each contestant.

14:32 I've seen a few but usually it's if something catches my attention whilst zooming.

I don't find the Chase too bad for waffle.  Bradley has a short chat with the contestants and then gets on with it.  Similarly with Beat the Chasers.

Zoomet, through adverts and waffle. Takes about 20 minutes to watch the 1% Club

I fear recording TV will be made impossible in the near future, 'recordings' will simply be a bookmark to the stream - same as Sky Glass and BBC on Sky boxes.

That's the way it's heading barry. pressure from advertisers not to mention the TV people themselves to gain ad revenue. Prime now has ads you cant skip and I think Sky Glass is heading that way. I have resisted going over to Glass but I suspect I'll eventually have to.

I don't have Sky Glass so don't know if the ads are skippable.

I have noticed that some of my BBC recordings on my Virgin boxes are links to iPlayer; only because FF doesn't work the same way as a recording.

There seems to be fewer Freeview recorders on the market. Of course it's all to do with ad revenue and control of content

Google tells me you have to pay extra for the 'ad skipping pack' on Sky Glass and it doesn't work on everything

I used to record stuff then never watch it so I don't bother anymore. Not a big fan of quiz shows, if I'm interested enough to watch a program I don't mind a couple of advert interruptions (or use them to make a cuppa).

Zoomers here too. "she who must be obeyed" is an expert. I believe that with Sky Glass and Sky Stream there is a skip ads button TTT. No got it but thinking of changing.

I tend to zoom through Mastermind if the contestants 'specialist' questions are on subjects i know zilch about.

Also, when i watch Only Connect, i zoom through the Wall round which i find tedious beyond belief.

I don't record, nor do I zoom. If there's waffle, I don't watch.

Commercials...and waffle...are for loo breaks 😂

You need to see your GP with 4 trips to the loo and hour 😁

I don't zoom but I don't watch either, nip to the loo, wash dishes, put the dogs out prep for lunch or dinner

Perhaps the way it is heading it will lead to a book reading revival instead.  And maybe folk taking up hobbies, learning new skills and getting educated.

Barry...I save 'em up for the big break...and get more drinks during the little ones.
