It's odd but I have never really liked Only Connect. I just find it a bit too clever for its own good somehow, and while I think VCM is a perfectly ok person, she comes over (to me at least) as rather irritating in this. Not her fault, probably just me.
I can't think that she'd be a suitable questionmaster for University Challenge, but then I wouldn't necessarily have said Paxman was beforehand either and he's been excellent.
