I'm watching my recordings of this series and it is not at all what I expected, thoroughly enjoying it although we are playing 'spot the ex Corrie actor'.
I always liked Charles Dale in Corrie (Dennis Skinner the dustman) and it's good to see him pop up in various minor roles.
I've two more episodes to watch so no spoilers please.

Excellent cast, great twists and turns. What should I watch next?

It's great barry1010, I don't usually watch that kind of drama but this one stood out. Love the way it ties in with past events.
Forgot to mention The Fall with Gillian Anderson... Talk about suspense!

Is that American? I prefer British dramas
Sorry got sidetracked. No it isn't American, she is an English cop assigned to Ireland. Jamie Dornan is in it too. We binge watched it, edge of seat etc.

Oh, good. I'll check it out
didn't like Sherwood at all, but The Fall is another matter entirely, excellent drama and worth watching all three series, i think Gillian Anderson is a fine actress and Jamie Dornan a revelation.
Not a spoiler Barry but could you watch the end carefully and let me know WHY. Please no other answers until Barry has watched it!!!!
Dagman - binge watched The Fall, definitely edge of seat. Didn't see that ending coming!

Kustard, good question! I have watched the final episode, before I read your post but the murderer, Scott, didn't go on the rampage because of the miners' strike or the fallout from that. The community assumed that was the reason and that padded out the storyline with fresh tensions between the strikers and the scabs.
It was nothing to do with the spy cop, either. That was another red herring that gave an interesting plot to the series.

It was simply because Scott is a twisted human being, jealous of close families and he didn't like Gary. He felt like an outsider, somebody ignored and was resentful about his upcoming conviction for benefit fraud - he claimed he didn't know he was supposed to declare his savings, and was angry at what he saw as an injustice that would blight his future.
He chose his targets to muddy the waters in the hope it would give him a chance to escape.

I enjoyed it.

Thank you so much for that Barry. I knew I could rely on you. I enjoyed it too. Knew it was nothing to do with the strike but couldn't figure what it WAS to do with. Now I understand but think the reason was a bit pathetic after all the different build-ups!!!
Barry1010, don't know if you're interested but I've recently binge watched "Back to Life" on bbc iplayer. It's a mystery/comedy with a lightly surreal plotline and characters, one actor you'd recognise from Sherwood too!
