Heart failure is a word used quite a lot by doctors. It sounds dreadful, but it doesn't mean you are going to drop dead. My neighbour had heart failure diagnosed in his late sixties and died at 90. It can just be s warning to realise that as you get older you do have to look after yourself and take more care. Correct Medication and good sense can keep you going. And...

Yes my love, in your situation, I would be worried too.

BP eminently controllable.

Heart Failure........no idea where or who or how, that was diagnosed.
Have you been overdoing things in this heat? Mine was once 200/100 when I was very stressed at work! At least you are in the right place to be checked, hope everything is ok x
Before you panic too much, Bobbi, I'll mention that my BP shot up to over 200 bpm once (oddly, shortly after I'd taken medication to reduce my BP) and, several years later, I'm still here.

Further, my friend who lives in Italy (who's 76) has had frequent episodes of blood pressure over 200 bpm but she's still basically as fit as a fiddle and constantly gallivanting around the world. (She's on a flight to the UK at this very moment).

So you might not need to book the crematorium just yet!

All the same though, I hope that the doc(s) get your problem sorted out quickly and that you'll be dancing the can-can (or whatever) again very soon :-)
Bobbi - I hope you feel better soon. I was diagnosed with Heart Failure 8 Years ago and apart from slowing down slightly and having to up the medication I am still managing to get out and about and do the things I enjoy. Life is still good. Best Wishes to you.
Thinking of you bobbi, hope all goes well x
I've just seen this, Bobbi. I hope you're OK.
Let us now as soon as you can....obviously worrisome that it is. I hope someone here sees this and backs off from her silly antics.....
How are you today Bobbie?
240 over 160 is my best attempt so far.
Still managing to be annoying.

Okay, had an early night with some deep thinking about lifestyle change , no more Grey Goose voddie whilst watching Corrie with large house measures, I WILL lose 2 stone ( watch me) though never obese I have put weight on, I’ve been criticized by the usual ‘haters’ by putting photos of myself on here , usually an AV, but I don’t care , this has given me a wake up call, it’s my body and I’m almost 76 years old , I won’t be dying anytime soon of a stroke or a heart attack, just last week my BP was around 142 , pretty normal for someone my age I’d say ? Thanks all of you for showing concern but I’ll get the BP back down, the only problem I have is what the hell will Gulliver prod me with now when I’ve given up my wee vodkas watching Corrie episodes, he’ll need to look for something else to prod me with now :0)))
ignore them Bobbi, do what you feel is right for you.

Glad you're ok Bobbi. Don't let trolls get you down - you're better than them, bum holes to the lot of them :-)

my heart rate went zing a while back and ended up in hospital, diagnosed with atrial fibrillation and now on perm meds for it.

Morning Margo , cats bum holes at that , haha
Their mouths probably look like cat's bums with all the rubbish they spout. Not really sure why anyone needs to be that nasty and venomous.
Question Author

Sorry to hear about your health scare Bobbi, sending my best wishes for a quick return to tip-top health. x
