Starts on Netflix on 14th January. Nor for everybody perhaps but I really liked this even though I'm not a great fan of Ricky Gervais.

Thanks Margo. I loved the first two - and I’m not a fan of his either.
I saw the trailer for season 3 yesterday and found myself guffawing, despite my dislike of Gervais. I might need to put my dislike aside and start the show.

It's well worth watching Mozz. It's very funny and very sad in parts, put aside your dislike and dive in :-)
I dived - and was pleased I did. I liked ‘Derek’ too. Still can’t see anything remotely funny in ‘The Office’ though - abs believe me I’ve tried.

Nor me Naomi, but Extras made me chuckle - recommended by a friend of mine
Not even the performance appraisal bit Naomi?
I'm so looking forward to this. I'm going to binge the whole lot in one go.
None that I watched amused me, Arrods.

That's the temptation isn't it.
Fair enough Naomi. At least you and others have watched and enjoyed some of his other work. I don’t understand it when people say “I don’t like, don’t find such and such funny’, so I don’t bother to watch them.
It made me cry last series!
I love him and would really love to go to one of his standup shows. Alas, I doubt he'll come to Spain.
My favourite scene from The Office. So bad ...

I've never watched any series with Gervais in it but I've always heard good reports. If and when I ever get time to sit down and start watching stuff I might give this a go.
i really don't like him at all, i watched some of the Office but it was so bad that i gave up.
I'm not keen on him either, but Afterlife and Derek are absolutely brilliant. I was never, ever going to watch Derek as I thought it was a send up of people with special needs, turns out, it's the complete opposite.

Give them a go. Worst ways, you can just switch it off if you don't like it.
sorry but i honestly can't stand the man,
Emmie, 'After Life' and 'Derek' shouldn't be judged by The Office. I thought that was dire but the other two are superb.

I tried to work out why 'The Office' didn't raise a smile for me and I think it's because as a 'parody' it simply doesn't work. Yes, I recognise some of the characters - you'd find them in most offices - but as a Manager, David Brent would be out on his ear pronto. In fact he wouldn't have been promoted in the first place. It goes too far and ends up just silly. The clip Ellipsis posted is an example. If that really happened there's no way that man would retain his job.
I apply the willing suspension of disbelief ...

I liked The Office, Afterlife was brilliant, made me cry at the end of each series at least. I avoided Derek for a long time, thinking it would be a bit clichéd, but loved it too.
He says he has made a tribute to all keyworkers this time.
Will definitely watch it.
