What happens if you are away for a week or 2 over Xmas, in the UK, and a new lockdown comes into force are you suppose to get home or stay put if you can, of course.

Wait until it happens, and see what the rules are.
You are allowed a drive to test your eyesight.
They chain you to a radiator and inject you will Madonna covid vaccine. You become a zombie
Assuming that the same set of regulations as were previously used were to come into force again, then the exceptions to a person ('P') being outside his/her home would include this provision:
"Exception 11 is that it is reasonably necessary for P to be outside P’s home to enable P to return home from any place where P was on holiday immediately before these Regulations came into force"
[The Health Protection (Coronavirus, Restrictions) (England) (No. 4) Regulations 2020]
Ignore and carry with life and by the way Ian not an anti vaxxer just someone who believe in choice as I hide the behind the barricades when the covid fascists come here !!
Fraser. If you damaged one of mine by ignoring and carrying on you'd need more than a bloody barricade to hide behind.
Gness they more likely get infected by people who have had the vaccine as I have said if you want or not to have the vaccine it's your choice my sister and family have itand they RESPECT my decision not to again it's freedom Iam been working on the frontline for the last two years haven't even caught a cold!!
are people really more likely to get infected by vaccinated people than unvaccinated? it seems counter-intuative
no bednobs its another of those lies repeated as if there facts
It's not just counter-intuitive, Bednobs - it's a pack of lies spread by hysterical idiots desperately trying to justify their selfish stupidity.
The unvaccinated get more ill, for much longer, and burn up scarce resources while spreading ( approximately) ten times the viral load of a vaccinated person of a similar age.

Some are lucky and dodge the bullets of the virus - most don't and deserve all they get.
Oh for goodness sake, Fraser. Most of us haven't caught colds of late because of those, other than the likes of you, who have been thoughtful and caring of others. Try it sometime.
Fraser, you're not an anti-vaxxer, but you'll use terms like "covid fascists" to describe others.

You're definitely something.
bednobs, bear in mind that vaccines can't stop you getting infected, or passing it on, they just make the effects (on you) milder.

If 90% of the population is vaccinated, and you become infected, it's statistically more likely to be by a vaccinated person simply because there are nine times as many of them.
Grandson is in France on holiday, skiing. He is due home on Christmas Eve. Will he be allowed, home?
This is a 'what if' question Caran - as far as I know there isn't a new lockdown.
fraser

I would ask one favour though
Should you become ill with covid could you please stay behind that barrier and not expect the nhs to try and keep you alive if you have not had the vaccine ?
Cheers
