I don't know how old the person was that you are talking about , but just because her name is Georgia, doesn't mean to say she would know that's also a country.
I've only known it's a country these past 20 years and that was because someone I met back then used to go to Tbilisi quite often.
Up until that time, the only Georgia I knew was the one in America.
It's clear that only thick people take it as a personal insult when normal people have a bit of fun about funny/stupid answers on TV.
