as Jeremy Clarkson rightly commented, someone thinking Keith Chegwin was in the Rolling Stones will be remembered for many years

LB, I knew you knew I would. ;o)

they seem to say here he was invited to sing on the wall but not used. https://www.ajournalofmusicalthings.com/8-obscure-musical-guest-appearances/
I've not watched the Youtube clip from the first page but looking at the question I'd have no idea and now my mother's gone I can't think of anyone who would know! I was impressed that the chap on Saturday discounted two I'd never heard of, although I'm old enough to know Keith Richards.
I knew quite a few of the million pound questions and I was about 90% sure on some others, would I have taken the chance on a 90% certainty though! To be fair at a million pounds I'd start to doubt my own date of birth!
that's the thing, zebo, none of us knows how well we'd do in front of an audience, you'd feel like a Christian thrown to the lions.
I think I could well be unsure of my own name in front of a film crew, tv audience and live audience. I'm sure everyone has got some of the million pound answers- but that doesn't count really, unless you also got that far in the first place.
here's a couple for you andy, if it will let me include two links at once

okay, it didn't, here's the other one

At home I can bang out answer after answer watching the chase etc... not even knowing how I know the answers Soaps would always be my downfall. As others have said in the studio, I'd crumble and have as much idea as Sooty even something simple like who was the lead singer of Queen.
TTT - // they seem to say here he was invited to sing on the wall but not used. //

Thank you - once again I am happy to stand corrected.

NP Andy, he never actually featured, it seems they wanted a sort of Beach boys effect but clearly they weren't happy with what was produced and didn't use it in the end.

Indeed - although I can't imagine why Mr Waters and friends would think that Brian Wilson was still capable of producing anything that would sound like The Beach Boys.

It's like many a performer, director etc they know what they are looking for but not able to communicate that and their efforts fall short of what they want.
jno - Thanks for the links, but I'm not sure why you have posted them for me - ?
I know your links Jno, versatile isn't the word.

Bent Bolt and the nuts! love the name!

Absolutely.

I interview a lot of very famous guitarists who have had a 'Signature Model' created for them by the company whose guitars they regularly play.

I am always intrigued how you would ask a luthier what you want in your guitar - it must be like trying to describe 'red' to a blind person.
TTT, Bent Bolt was aka Teddy Randazzo. Funny the way a crooner's career can go (not to mention his voice).
