yes many times.
I always feel sorry for that German soldier in the fight in the cable car .

The look on his face when he realises he is going plummet to the ground
Ah, yes. Lots and lots of snow. Lovely blonde Mary Ure only lived another 7 years. An accidental overdose of sleeping pills along with too much alcohol. Only 42.
Some female movie actresses (westerns etc.) had tragic early deaths, others lived to a grand old age. They contributed a lot but are often overlooked.
Bazile - // I always feel sorry for that German soldier in the fight in the cable car //

It's not a German solider - it's Ted Barclay, one of the British rescue party revealed as a traitor.
james 412 - // Lovely blonde Mary Ure only lived another 7 years. //

She was married to Robert Shaw who was also something of a drinker in his day.

He was sent home from the Jaws set for being too drunk to film properly, and the next day he delivered his mesmerising speech about the drowning sailors being eaten by sharks which was not scripted, he improvised the whole speech and Spielberg was so impressed, he kept the cameras rolling and kept the scene in the final cut of the film.
Patrick Wymark was the character given the option of jumping from the plane with no parachute or being hung as a traitor.

No idea about the German falling from the cable car.
That actor who played the Gestapo officer was quite a handsome chap , was he not ?
Another chappy I feel sorry for is the guy in the communications room listening to his music who gets shot by CE

I seem to feel sorry for a lot of people - lol
Patrick Wymark's Daughter plays Joyce Barnaby in Midsomer Murders.
yes - Darren Nesbitt. He's 85 now and not quite so handsome!
the blonde Gestapo officer
Major von Hapen
Davebro at 19:49 - there are no Germans on the cable car!!!

Are you sure you've seen this film?
Correction - it's Christianson who falls from the car roof, Barclay stays in and gets blown up.
Glad that's cleared up. We don't want errors in the discussion of fiction on Answerbank.
Always happy to avoid anyone stressing!!
still wondering why the OP posted this question. !!!!!!!!!!
I think it's probably second only to The Great Escape in the number of times it's been on! Burton's voice still gives me the goosebumps, I recall being on a course, walking into the dining room one Sunday and seeing that he'd died, ran out sobbing.
Husbands favourite film
