Not me, thanks, but enjoy
i have watched some, they are an extraordinary family, one that i wish i could emulate.....
I remember when they were first on tv, on Adrian Edmondson's The Dales in 2011. Seen quite enough of them over the years

They really seem to have the right mix with the way they raise the kids , I believe APG, knows of them as her farm is quite near,
Those kids have immaculate manners ,you’ll not see them ‘yobbing’ it anywhere
I have enjoyed the previous series and will, no doubt , enjoy this new series. Have you read her books? They are a real joy. Such a lovely family.
I'm looking forward to this as well.
Question Author
I’ve got them on my kindle to read yet Mally
Honestly, they are lovely kids but go to any farm in this area and you will see the same thing -maybe not as many in the family, but all really polite and hardworking. Amanda has been very clever in promoting her lifestyle and I don't blame her, but some of the scenes have to be taken with a huge pinch of salt and they do tend to play to the cameras an awful lot. I can understand how a lot of people enjoy watching that sort of thing, but I've never watched more than five minutes and OH can't stand it. I wonder who looks after the children when she is doing book tours and TV interviews? LOL! (the nanny no one sees........?)
Question Author
Haha, I suppose us townies can get immersed in the idyllic lifestyle we see ( well damned hard work) that I couldn’t do, I think it takes special kind of people to do hill farming etc, remember Hannah Hawxwell?
Hannah Hauxwell was very well known around here. OH's dad knew her very well. She had a huge funeral in Barnard Castle the whole place came to a standstill. She lived like a Tramp and when she retired and moved into a nice cottage in Cotherstone she turned that into a dirty old place too. Just what she knew really I suppose, but I did enjoy watching her programmes.
Question Author
It was documentaries that I’ll never forget about her, no running water ,electricity ,a very lonely existence , I remember was it her brother or some family member got her to retire to the small cottage ?
I don't think she had any close family Bobbi, except I think a few distand cousins. She went to live in Cotherstone as her health was failing, then ended up in a nursing home, I think in Barnard Castle.
Question Author
So that’s two things Barneys famous for then ;0)
It's very good. But I do think the designer coats and fancy 4x4s which the series have brought are spoiling it a little.
Question Author
I’m possibly getting her mixed up with Susan Boyle , vastly different but both stars in their own field
Hannah wasn't as old as people assumed, she was in her late 40s when she first appeared on TV. Hard life lived mainly outdoors isn't kind to skin
Question Author
Zac as APG has said Amanda has cleverly brought income to the family with books, tv etc, I’m sure APG said a while ago that they rent Ravenseat rather than own it?
Quite possibly. It just seems to be departing from it's roots a bit. I'll keep watching as I love the topography of both the setting and Amanda as well ;-)
Question Author
Now I was just about to say she must be easy on the eye for ya, haha
She's a fine woman.
