The Latin meaning is ‘wandering’, as in wandering or mooching around the Internet. In this case it’s nothing to do with the nerve. My other half chose it as it was he who initially joined AB.
I’m intrigued as to why you’re intrigued??
Actually, there are a few usernames which intrigue me too.. :)

Vagus to me is the tenth cranial nerve and my area of familiarity lol.
Just wondered and thanks.
:o) You’re welcome.
Vagus exercises are what I do to control Atrial fibrillation attacks! Did a lot of research!
Apc I'm very interested in these exercises. What are they and where do you recommend I find out about them? Thank you.
Lady Janine. I spent a long time researching. I really got no advice from doctors or hospitals. I just got prescribed medication. I found out about breathing methods and vagal exercises and learned to control the AF. I was having AF and panicking and making it worse. I spoke to hospital and GP who were happy that I could control it. But I won't recommend because it might not be the right thing to do for everybody. I would Google Afib, read up about the vagus nerve. And then ask your GP if it would help you. It certainly helped me. Happy to chat on Body and Soul.

Sqad could possibly help. The vagus nerve has a very important function in many ways.

I also find drinking really cold water and splashing my face with really cold water helps.

But most importantly don't do vagus exercises without talking to a doctor. It may not be the right thing for you.

Apc....no sqad cannot help and ai have no idea how these vagal exercises work in a particular type of AF.
Stimulating the vagus nerve slows the heart and most Drs prefer medications.
You are also correct Apc in determine which type of AF is the problem.
If it works for you, it works and I do not know why.
Sorry.
Just for info Sqad. I take Beta Blockers and blood thinners and my anxiety made AF worse. My AF has now been inactive for 2 months since they took me off amitriptyline. My initial AF attack was just after I was put on amitriptyline 3 years ago!!

Apc...thanks. All that makes sense.
