"why would anyone under 60 remember LBJ?" I've never understood the theory that only those who were alive at the time of an event can possibly know anything about it. Johnson being sworn in on Air Force One of the runway of Lovefield Airport in Dallas, with Kennedy's widow standing next to him in her blood-soaked clothing, is simply general knowledge. The...

Sorry, M6, not M62!
JimF, obviously, my attempt to interject some humour into the thread didn't work:) Anyway, am I correct in assuming that the M62 connects London with Scotland?
OK, M6: London to Scotland?
Not directly. The M6 branches off the M1 and heads North-West where the M1 continues North-East. It terminates just outside Gretna Green.

The M6 connects Scotland with many levels of hell.
OK, thanks. Doesn't Gretna Green have a reputation for young couples rushing off there to get married?
Yes, it does.
gawd, where do they get these people who think Lincoln died in a theatre? Isn't it common knowledge that he died in a house over the road, next day?
I get fed up of the contestants just using lifelines on nearly every question, surely some level of general knowledge should be tested before they get on the show.
I turned it off when the 1st contestant asked Clarkson, did a 50/50 & was considering phone a friend before he even got to £1000 !!! Dummies.
Abraham Lincoln was shot in Fords Theatre but he was taken across the road to a little hotel where he died the following day. You can visit it and see the room.
//surely some level of general knowledge should be tested before they get on the show.//

Yes would be great for us viewers, but they'd have to shell out more winnings!
I couldn't tell you where any US president was sworn in. It's of zero interest. Can not conceive of how anyone could be interested enough to memorise such a thing, especially outside of the US.

just points of GK OG, most of them were sworn in at the Capitol Building so naturally the ones that are not are often quiz questions.
TTT do you think every contestant should win a million? I love the show - admittedly sometimes think "you should have known that" but at other times think "well, I don't have a scooby". It's a game!

No but I am regularly shocked at what some people do not know. Often I find the higher money questions easier than the sub £1000 ones. In fact If I went on the show, that's what I fear most, the ones about soaps and shee Ite like love island etc especially as we don't have ask the audience at the moment.

...also the outrage from some on here about these sorts of questions greatly amuses me.
I would've got Judith Keppels £1m question right but would never have known the answers to many of the previous questions.
Same here, Tigger. I knew the answer as soon as the question popped up, but then mediaeval history is a specialism of mine.
