Has it got to the point now that the staff, doctors and nurses are so tired and exhausted is the reason we are still seeing on average 900 /1000 people a day dying from covid, not to mention none covid.? At the beginning of this pandemic when we reached into the thousands we were cob smacked, now it seems almost as its accepted.

Sky this morning on TV were interviewing a chap that lost his wife to covid, she was taken in with breathing problems ( she also had disabilities) when he asked if she was going into ICU, the doctor said to him that she was not suitable?? and she died. So are the real problems of short staff being covered up, hence the continuation of a high rate of deaths when there shouldn't be.

Dont they only go in ICU if there is some prospect of saving them but not if theres not?
There was a surge in infections about 6 weeks ago, a surge in admissions a bit after and a big rise in deaths, Death swill tail off as the others have been falling for the last few weeks
This what’s really happening; 18,262 new people had a confirmed positive test result reported on 6 February 2021.
Between 31 January 2021 and 6 February 2021, 133,747 people had a confirmed positive test result. This shows a decrease of 25.1% compared to the previous 7 days.
"is the reason we are still seeing on average 900 /1000 people a day dying from covid, not to mention none covid.?" .. Should this be in quizzes and puzzles ?

... "We were cob smacked" .. who is we and what is your cob ?

You really should put your brain in gear before you press the launch button !
cob smacked This was from when Teacake went to the river feeding swans rather than feeding squirrells in the woods
It’s quite worrying that people like tea cake actually get to vote and influence the outcome of elections.
there is absolutely no point extending someone's life by using a ventilator if they are just going to die shortly anyway. As with a lot of healthcare, just because you can doesn't mean you should
I don't know the details of the case but assume that ITU meant intubation? Its really unpleasant and requires the patient to be anaesthetised. As I understand it you need to be fairly well for your age to tolerate the treatment. The death statistics always trail the test, infection and hospitalisation stats. In fact improvement in treatments are resulting in less people needing ITU.
Intensive Treatment Unit
...or therapy
Am not sure where ITU has come into this. We mentioned ICU
"Intensive Care Units can be referred to by various names which mean the same thing, for example Critical Care Unit (CCU), Intensive Care Unit (ICU) or Intensive Therapy Unit (ITU). The unit cares patients with acute illness or injury that require specialised procedures and treatments by specialised staff."
"An intensive care unit (ICU), also known as an intensive therapy unit or intensive treatment unit (ITU) or critical care unit (CCU), is a special department of a hospital or health care facility that provides intensive care medicine."

Zac 20.05 I would worry more about yourself if I were you. Because no matter when I post a thread day or night, whatever time, your there with that sarcastic childish remark. It might be a good time, /idea, to look for a more worth while pass time, and stop relying on AB for your cheap kicks.

And just for the clever ones her disabilities would not have made any differences than a fully able person regarding going into the ICU. That's why it was on the TV.
20.05 Zacs , What a childish immature juvenile answer
can't really comment further without a link....would need to know more anout her prexisting conditions.
Childish immature and juvenile eh? Strange you’ve no comment on my post at 19:58 which proved you wrong isn’t it. I’ll continue to ‘pop up’ as long as you continue to post utter garbage.
Let's not beat about the bush here, in that if you have all ICU beds full , all ventilators in use and more patients arriving at the door, then choices have tobe made......some good and some not so good.
Doctors have been faced with this problem for decades, heart, lung, kidney transplants and on the whole have done a good job.
Covid is no different and at times life or death decisions have to be made and Dr's just get on with it....that is their job.

Get yourself a fuzzy felt kit Zac that should keep you occupied for a time throughout the day.

Sqad Beds full? What was the idea of the Nightingales. Plus Matt Hancock keeps on insisting that the NHS is still open for business, and(no one) gets turned away. She was turned away.
