I really like Gloria and Julia but I just cannot watch Angela Ripon. She is so up her own @rse. Anyone feel the same?

I hope that is reward enough for your unseemly intetest in my history - a man crush is not a dignified way to go, think about it.

Someone get the BIG klaxon out.
What an arrant arrogant ***!
I simply used the search facility, Andy. I can assure you you're not my type, sweetie.

You also stood corrected when you were found to be lying on this thread too. Your obsession was further demonstrated by the fact that you saw fit to come back some 5 months after the thread came to a natural end to decry her. 5 months!

By the way I've taken a screen shot of my post. Just in case 'something funny' should happen to this thread.
My response at 1709 was to the resident ah. The starred out portion is a three letter word for a member of the Genus Equus.
Andy - I certainly don't think Gloria has parlayed Caron into her career - she can't help portraying and talking about her heart that is broken into a million pieces.

My own sister in law died after two years after the death of her 15 year old son - just starved herself to death as she couldn't cope. Gloria has managed to get on with her life and by talking about Caron has probably helped her to no end.

So everyone deals with death in their own way and GH does it her way.
I think something funny happening to this thread is a foregone conclusion.

Apparently, the odds are now 1,000-1 against that A-H won't have the last word in this thread.

Jenny Joan. Your reply is excellent and understanding. Thank you for that x
roy - // OK so you hate the woman andy but how many times must you tell us? //

Ten thousand nine hundred and forty-seven.
iluvmargie - // I can only imagine Gloria Hunniford's pain as I know it will be mine magnified many times and because of this I have every sympathy with her. //

i can only repeat my earlier assertion - Ms Hunniford is not by a very long way the only TV personality to lose a child.

She is however, the only TV personality who will deliberately steer a conversation round to that loss, and then talk about it - this was highlighted as I mentioned, when the widower of Lynda Bellingham appeared on Loose Women, and within thirty seconds the standard "I remember when we lost Caron ... ' heralded her hi-jacking of the conversation to be about her, once again.

I also have every sympathy with her loss - just not the way she is unable to avoid swinging conversations around to it on national television, with unseemly regularity.
Do you suffer from having some sort of episodes, andy?

Serious question.
Lady CG - // Well, Andy, you didn't simply ignore me when I posted about your beloved Duchess and why she was telling the world about her loss when she has claimed to want privacy! //

If in six months time it comes to my attention that my 'beloved Duchess' is hi-jacking conversations to talk about her loss, she will be receiving exactly the same criticism as Gloria Hunniford, for exactly the same reason.
In fact, you were downright abusive. But it's one rule for you and another rule for everyone else.

// I've said it before and I'll say it again, you are a monumental hypocrite. Of course you'll be removing this answer in short time like you usually do with posts that highlight your hypocrisy or criticise you in any way. //

I have said before, but apparently it bears repeating - Moderators are not permitted to remove posts that criticise them personally, that would quite right be seen as abuse of privilege.

The last time your personally critical posts directed towards me were removed, but they were not removed by me.
A-H, when have you seen all these 'conversations that are swung round to it [her loss] on national TV with unseemly regularity?' I remember the Lynda Bellingham one, but I think that was about five years ago. Have there been others every month, quarter, year...?
Zacs - // You also stood corrected when you were found to be lying on this thread too. //

I think referring to 'lying' is a bit strong.

I may be in error because my memory is absolutely shocking, but that is not the same as an inference that I am deliberately trying to mislead anyone, which is what a lie is, or avoid being advised that I have made a mistake, which I am always happy to admit.

I do make mistakes, I do not lie.
Never - // A-H, when have you seen all these 'conversations that are swung round to it [her loss] on national TV with unseemly regularity?' I remember the Lynda Bellingham one, but I think that was about five years ago. Have there been others every month, quarter, year...? //

There have been others, but since I watch virtually no 'live' television, I have no problem in avoiding Ms Hunniford's appearances - and of the occasions when she has dragged conversations away from their topic and around to her personal loss, I am unable to remember any specifically - but they have been pointed out by other AB'ers on other threads.
I’ll be more blunt. I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt, Mr Hughes, that you’d simply forgotten you’d said what you said about Ms Hunniford, and that you’d forgotten you’d started 3 threads about her (although the latter is stretching credulity somewhat).

Given the serious nature of moderating an Internet forum, do you think, given your....ah hem....lapses of memory that you are of the correct caliber to be a moderator?
Zacs - // Given the serious nature of moderating an Internet forum, do you think, given your....ah hem....lapses of memory that you are of the correct caliber to be a moderator? //

Moderating requires making a judgement about something in front of me in real time - memory is not a pre-requisite.
Thanks, A-H. Really? It's posts that you have read on AB, over the years, that leads you to say 'the way she parlays [her loss] into an attention-seeking aspect of her professional career which I find unseemly'?
