Thursday. The last day of the year. A hard frost and a full moon. I'll wrap up warm when I go out later...If I go out that is! I've a mind to go back to bed instead!
I had to give a blood sample at the surgery yesterday, the girl doing it said 'Say ouch!' I said Obligatory ouch. It made her giggle. I didn't feel a thing.

To be honest not great. I have been accused of giving Jen too much oramorph by doctor.

Sorry to have to sat that the doctor is right mate. It's not one you want to overdo as it can be addictive.

Morning DT. I've had better years too!
morning Boaty xx Tony xx DT xx

not a great start I am afraid...the old dear that lost her son very suddenly just over a year ago came to my door in a state yesterday morning..her older son 64.... had been rushed into hospital at 4am...turns out his AORTA had blown ..he has survived a 10 hour operation but things do not look promising...
Yes we both know it can be addictive will see what nurse says today. Jen would prefer not to have it but it's the best pain relief they can prescribe we've asked if there is an alternative. Last advice I was given was as and when required.

Morning minty xxx That is not good at all! I hope it all goes well for him and, indeed, her.
Question Author
Tony that's the best advice they can give you on that mate.
Morning Mintyxx not a great time of year to be in hospital as if anytime is
Yes I know Boaty, but if you look at someone crying with the pain what do you do?
I'm borrowing Edward Thompson for this: (Given the gloom here)

April, blighted by Covid 19, passed on to May then June
No jobs, no work but many a person with falling leaves,
And a dreadful Summer wilted more of these soon,
Autumn gathered up remaining sheaves;
As Plaintive October lockdown saddened for the year,

An even wilder November raged that hope was past,
Shrieking, “All days of life are made, how drear—
Wild sounds of ambulances ! and Death comes driving fast.”
Yet sane December when Covid felled low,
In cold calm light with the vaccines showed clear,

Harkened to optimism more sweet than ten months ago,
And another lockdown imminent and sincere.
“Beneath these vaccinated waves shining from yon west
Perhaps there will be normalness of some delighted May,
And June shall shackle free, lovely as the summer best

That flung their illnesses forth on all their way;
Even after a violent Spring, the balms of Humanity’s breath,
Their voices once again, childlike-joy in the air,
Bring us gentle colors”—sane New Year’s Eve saith
“Covid out, Covid out—O heart, sigh not ‘They were.’”
