There were single Christmas specials in 1981, 1982, 1983, 1985, 1986, 1987, 1988, 1989 and 1990.

There were TWO Christmas specials in 1991.

There were further (single) specials in 1992 and 1993.

There was a TRILOGY across three dates around Christmas 1996.

I make that 16 in total.

CORRECTION!

That should be 19, as there were further Christmas special in 2001, 2002 and 2003.
