Loved this programme tonight. Always been a Cliff fan. Seen him live, absolutely fantastic. Parts of this show brought tears to my eyes.

A Cliff track that's largely forgotten now but worth a listen, I think:

My sister has been a big Cliff fan,and I went to 2 brilliant concerts in the late 80s:-). Have seen him talk about the trauma he went through before. BBc had, and have a lot to answer for! A smarmy excuse for an apology is worse than no apology at all:-(
My brother in law hid him in the back of his car to get him out of his house here in Portugal when the "story broke". Have had some good meals with him
He's a national treasure now.
Good one calm It shows you how "good" good friends are when things are really desperate. He was always a national treasure, but the bbc did their level best to make him a pariah:-(
H e looked far too thin to me. I couldnt help noticing his hollowed in cheeks.
He will be 80 next year. That may explain his ageing appearance.
I perhaps should be ashamed but I have never been much of a Cliff fan, but there is no way he deserved the harrowing time he was put through.
He gave a free concert for the charity set up I'm my sisters name after she died in a car crash
Jackdaw, he was 80 this month.
How wonderful Calmck, a thoughtful man.
Good friends looking after one another:-) lovely to actually see it happen. All good wishes to your family calm:-)
Never really a fan of Cliff, but hated what was done to him by the BBC
and thought at the time that mud sticks and this will probably ruin his life, but thankfully he was able to rise above it. I think he looks good for 80.
I might have to watch that despite a huge dislike for Morgan.
My mum was a lifelong huge fan of Cliff. She’d have been so upset to see what he went through.
Too many ‘huge’s in there :)
Been a big Cliff fan since I bought "The Young Ones" single with my pocket money and have seen him in concert several times. Disappointing that this years 'Great at 80' tour is postponed until next October. I dislike Piers Morgan and have heard he can be brutal with his interviewees but I did watch it and thought it was very good. Piers obviously has a lot of respect for Cliff and Cliff knows how to handle what could be awkward questions.
Back in the 60's he was viditing a church mission in Bradford and I was sent to make sure he wasn't hasselled by any fans.Iwas a bit surprised when nobody turned up.When he got out of roller he stopped for a quick chat and explained that he had kept his visit quiet.
I am not a Cliff fan, although I join with everyone else in the condemnation of the appalling way he was treated by both the police and the BBC.

The BBC's coverage was beyond appalling in fact - whistling up a helicopter to film a policeman through the window if Sir Cliff's bedroom as he grinned and waved underwater at the camera. How the BBC justify that as 'news' escapes me, as I am sure it escapes Sir Cliff to this day.
23.29, sun. Thanks Buenchico. Haven't heard that for a long time. I'll have to get the LPs and CDs out!
I do a mean impersonation of Cliff Richard singing the Young the Ones.......curled lip and the lisps.....LOL
