His outfits have to be seen to be believed. Today he had reddy/orange jacket, white shirt, navy trousers and a green hanky in his pocket.
Where does he get his dress sense? Or is it done deliberately for television?

With regard to people dressing colourfully, does anyone watch Owain, the North West weather presenter? He always brightens my day but I'm so busy looking at his outfit that I always miss what he says the weather is going to do!!!!
Why don't people just say it as it is? He's as camp as row of tents. Anyone with a long memory will remember the TV ad from the early sixties that went like this: Don't forget the Fruit Gums mum, I just love those Fruit Gums mum. That boy was Michael Portillo.
Tis true. That's where his colour connection started!
Since boyhood I have threaded my belts, from a bird's eye view, clockwise around my waist, that is to say, ending with the buckle pointing to my left & the tail end of the belt to the right. A few years ago I bought a belt with a logo on it which was upside down when it was tied.

I started looking around & realised I was in a tiny minority who do so, one is Michael Portillo another is Prince Harry & to my horror I noticed, watching a documentary on TV the other night, so did Adolf Hitler !!!

I hope there are no lessons to be learned from this. :0)
The man lesson is that the belt is fastened properly!
Ooops!^^^ Sorry. The "main lesson" ^^^
He was in a Ribena ad in the early 60s. Denis Gilmore was the Fruit Gum boy
Hm, are you sure Barry? 10CS is never wrong.

Are you sure, Khandro? The Milky Bar Kids were blonde, Portillo was dark haired. The first MBK was Terry Brooks (1961 to 1966). Portillo was 13 in 66 and probably too old by then

thank you nestle indeed
I don't think Portillo was ever a Milkybar Kid.

The Daily Mail tracked down seven of them and Portillo was not one of those seven.

I'm sure he wasn't, Corby :)
Glad I didn't bet on it; trick of memory. Well he certainly was, 'The Ribena Kid'.
They're his work clothes. I like them.
